Update, 7/9: Rodney Wallberg has a follow-up hearing scheduled for
Friday, October 25 and a sentencing scheduled for Tuesday, January 7,
2020. Wallberg was charged with five counts of child abusive commercial
activity and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

A preliminary exam is scheduled for May 21. His bond was set at $100,000 on all counts.

An Ishpeming man has been arrested for Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material.
The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested 66-year-old Rodney Thomas Wallberg on March 21st, following an investigation into his online activity.
The investigation revealed that Wallberg has been downloading child sexually abusive material at his residence.
Wallberg is charged with five counts of child sexually abusive activity and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Each count of possession of child sexually abusive activity carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or a $100,000 fine. Each count of using a computer to commit a crime carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine.
The MSP Computer Crimes Unit were assisted by the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post and the Ishpeming Township Police Department.
